THE QUESTION WAS ASKED BY A CHILD... "Daddy how do you walk a tightrope?" The father replied, "GOOGLE IT" If you look up the directions on how to walk a tightrope, you will essentially find this process: Practice all the steps while the rope is LOW. When you have made significant progress, RAISE THE ROPE and repeat the the process. This is the process we've gone through over the past year at Blackhaven Ranch (Chicago). Sure, its nice to have high goals and set out after your wildest dreams; but where do you start? What do you do? How do you ultimately get to the finished product? WELL, WE STARTED OFF WITH A LOW TIGHTROPE... Instead of blindly rushing into a lifestyle that we knew little-to-nothing about, we decided to take the time to educate ourselves, mostly through trial and error. Rather than going straight to the farm, we brought the farm to us. The purpose was to create an environment that welcomed and encouraged failure. This way, when we did stumble and fall, it wouldn't be as detrimental to our pockets or self esteem. There would be nothing more disheartening than to take the biggest leap of your life, miss, and hit rock bottom. I encourage you all to follow your wildest dreams and set out to attain the most unreachable goals; but be calculated in your journey, in order to protect yourself and those that depend on you. It's ok to have fear, just don't be afraid. Having fear means that you have a healthy respect for what's in front of you. It will keep you on your toes and aware. Being afraid will leave you right where you are, and you'll never attain anything outside of that little space. I am ecstatic about the strides we've made here at Blackhaven. We've tried; We've failed; We've tried again; and We've accomplished... It's time to RAISE THE ROPE!!! Please Subscribe, Comment, Like, Share Matthew Ross |
